Swim Trunks

Swim trunks are popular choices for men engaging in recreational water activities such as lounging by the pool, surfing, and playing beach volleyball or splashing around in a swimming pool. Swim trunks have been around since the 1930s, when they first began to show up on their own and with out a top portion of a Men’s swimming costume.

They’re more likely to be shorter, looser and made from nylon, cotton, or polyester. Depending on the type and cut of the short, they may be clingier, as well as more absorbent of water. When swim trunks get wet, they tend to loosen or feel like they are falling off. This is remedied through the trunks strings, found in the front center of the waistband. Tie a knot or use spring-loaded connectors to tighten and adjust the trunks as the swim trunks get wet and dry during the day. Swim trunks also have mesh inside and are made of a waterproof material that will dry very quickly once you have left the water. Regular cotton shorts will take much longer to dry.

The durable fabric, a thick cotton blend resistant to ultraviolet rays and pool chemicals, make swim trunks more desired by men. If you’re going to be in the water a lot but also plan to be socializing and spending time out of the water, swim trunks would be a smarter buy. Cheers!
